Oh wow, my favourite guardian of the galaxy ! Raccoon with a rocket ! Rolling raccoon is a speedrunning platformer where you play as a rocket propelled raccoon with a grappling hook. The concept is quite simple yet very much fun.

I always suck with speedrunning games as I stress too much and end up fumbling. But I guess that the silly raccoons of this game kept me going. The whole gameplay and levels are centered around raccoons which I find lovely. You start in a pile of garbage and you go dunk yourself in a dumpster to validate your time at the end. Who ever thought of this definitely knows and loves raccoons as much as I do.

The demo itself is not very long but I still played 1h to try to get into the top 10 scores of the levels. For context, I was in the top 10 when the demo had just released. I now sit barely in the top 100… The fact that there was a time leaderboard really pushed me beyond my limit. I felt that as a raccoon myself I had to grind it.

The assets are cute and silly just like you would expect from a game like this. The UI and animations hold themselves together quite well and so do the SFX and music.

If you like fun games and speedurning titles, I can only recommend it !
