Acts of blood was definitely surprising. I cannot say I was expecting what the game was when i booted it up. Steam told me it was like the judgement spin offs from the LAD series when it was more like SIFU. I have enjoyed SIFU a lot so i cant complain for sure.
It is a very solid demo, very complete and feels very polished. There is one playable story level and 2 arena that you can play plus a small hub (your apartment) that you can explore. The story level is rather straight forward so I suppose the rest of the game will be like this too. there are a couple of side rooms to explore for extra cash and healing kits. Do not get fooled by the fact that it is linear though, The level design is very good so it does not feel like a corridor at all.
As for the arenas they are small rectangles with endless enemies coming at you. They can be pretty useful for practicing attacks pattern and dodges. the arenas also give XP, i do not know if it was intentional but that means we could start the game at max level if we grinded the arena mode enough.. ? Hopefully they fix that.
I want to talk about the story, but beside a small sentence that I didn’t have time to read because i was drinking water I don’t know much about it. I know it is about a person who had a relative die and they are seeking revenge. I kind of wished we had more info on the story so I could get really hooked on it. Other than that, the combat feels super smooth and was really fun to play with, I could spend hours in the arena mode without getting tired.
Overall very happy with the demo and I am very curious to see the full game on release !
