Time Est. 1H20

A Death howl is definitely what i wanted to do after dying for the 45th time against a haunted branch. But honestly it didn’t remove any ounce of fun I had with this game.

There are 2 types of gameplay in the game. An exploration phase and a combat phase. During the exploration phase you walk around the map gathering resources. They are rather easy to find as they are glowing when you go pass them. You can also find hidden groves with challenges and more stuff inside but you will need to have a keen eye for these.

Then with those precious resources, you can use them to craft your deck. The more you collect things the more cards you unlock. You can only have 20 cards in your deck so you will need to choose wisely which cards to keep. They also have special effects like pushing back enemies or giving you back action points.

Speaking of action points, let me talk about the combat phase. It classic turn by turn combat but with “action points” you have in total 3 action point which you can raise and regain from various ways. You can equip artifact, play certain cards or wait until the start of your next turn. Make sure you keep your distance with the enemy to ensure that you don’t take too much damage, but remember that moving also costs action points.

Honestly this game was described as a 2d turn by turn darksouls and I 100% see it. If you like challenges and deck building please give Death Howl a try 😀 !
