Are you hungry ? Because I sure am. Especially after playing the Demo of Sedap – A Culinary Adventure ! It is a classic cooking game like overcooked but with the fact that you can play AND have fun, while playing solo.
The whole twist and what I think makes Sedap very unique is that you have to fight for your food. A recipe may ask you for a pineapple but in this game, they grow on snapping turtles back. (careful not to get your finger snapped !). I love the fact that they actually wrote a story that justifies the context of the game. Where sometimes silly co-op games don’t really have an explanation to what you are doing. Sedap does a wonderful job at explaining and giving you context on everything.
Now we get in the main course (haha get it ?). THE FOOD ! EVERYTHING LOOKS SO GOOD ARRRGRRHHHHH I WANT TO EAT EVERYTHING. I already am a fan of asian cuisine in general but wow did this game made me want to try new things. So many meals i have never heard of (mostly because its oriented towards east asian cooking). I played this game for around 1h and I was hungry for the whole time it really felt like a torture 😭.
I did not have the chance to play it in co-op sadly but I can know already how it will end up. We will be playing for 2h and then our friendship will break on someone incapability to make bubble tea correctly. One person fights monsters and the other cooks and prepare the food (or at least tries). Playing this game by myself was a bit hard by moment but I know that playing with other friend will just create chaos and will be making us lose more than succeed.
Overall, I cannot wait for Sedap’s release ! I hope to stream it with friends to show how good I am at doing chicken fried rice.
